Sarah Palin:’Trust The Oil Industry’ – Sarah Palin Says ‘Trust The Oil Industry’ In Aftermath Of ‘Tragic’ Spill
Sarah Palin has faith in the oil industry, according to a recent statement that was made by the famous politician and Fox News anchor. She urged Americans to “trust the oil industry,” and to continue to pursue to controversial topic of offshore drilling. Offshore drilling was expected to begin soon off of the East coast of the United States, but has been put on hold in the wake of the recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico that has threatened wildlife and the environment in the area. Palin made the comments while delivering a speech in Missouri.
Palin called the oil spill “tragic,” but went on to say that offshore drilling is the best way to go at this point as a viable energy solution. She was speaking to a mostly republican crowd when she made the comments.
“I want our country to be able to trust the oil industry,” Palin said to the crowd.
This was not the first time that Palin has emphasized the importance of supporting offshore drilling in the United States. She has said that she will not change her mind following the oil spill, and instead continues to urge crowds to hold their ground on their opinions of offshore drilling, despite setbacks.
“Alaskans understand the tragedy of an oil spill, and we’ve taken steps to do all we can to prevent another Exxon tragedy, but we are still pro-development,” Palin told the crowed. “I repeat the slogan “drill here, drill now” not out of naivete or disregard for the tragic consequences of oil spills – my family and my state and I know firsthand those consequences.”
